Winchester Salsa Fest Tickets on Sale

Salsa-logoIf you’d like to purchase tickets for the Winchester Parks & Recreation’s first annual Salsa Fest, don’t wait and don’t worry about the weather! The Salsa Fest, scheduled to be held on the roof of Court Square Autopark Saturday, August 28 (5-10 pm) will be moved down one floor for cover if it rains.

Get your tickets early to make sure you can get in. Space is limited due to occupancy requirements and those who purchase tickets in advance will be not have to wait in line at the gate.

Local celebrities have been training for the past several weeks and practicing their salsa dance routine. They will be competing for your votes ($). The celebrity that raises the most money (votes) will win! All money raised from the “Salsa with the Stars” voting will be donated to the WINC Chain of Checks. Local celebrities include:

  • Lenny Millholland, City of Winchester Sheriff
  • Dallas Croft, ERA OakCrest Realty
  • Ann Burkholder, City Commissioner of the Revenue
  • Sharen Gromling, Our Health
  • James Tulley, TV3 Winchester
  • Jim Stutzman, Jim Stutzman Chevrolet Cadillac

But before the dance competition, which begins at 8:00 pm, taste and vote for your favorite salsa food from 5:00-7:00 pm. Also, grab a bite to eat from one of the food vendors and a drink from the Winchester Parks Foundation. All proceeds from alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage sales benefit the Winchester Parks Foundation’s financial aid fund.

Want to try out salsa dancing? Professional dancers will be on hand to not only demonstrate traditional salsa dances, but they will also be providing instruction as well. After learning a few steps, dance the night away to a live salsa band and DJ.
