Winchester Police Report Armed Robbery at Wingate Drive

At approximately 2:00 am on July 21, 2009 the Winchester Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Hilton Garden Inn on Wingate Drive in the City of Winchester.  A male clerk was on duty when he was approached by a white male who entered the business and displayed a handgun.  The suspect restrained the victim and took money from the business and keys to the victim’s vehicle.  It is believed that the suspect then fled in the victim’s vehicle, which was later recovered on Kinross Drive in Frederick County by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.  The victim did sustain minor injuries as a result of being restrained, but did not seek medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’10”, medium to heavy build, dark brown hair, approximately 18-25 years of age.  He was last seen wearing a black long sleeve sweatshirt, dark colored dress pants, and brown shoes.  At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a white and black bandana over his face.
