Winchester Police Offer Seminar to Restaurants on Reducing Alcohol Related Offenses

The Winchester Police Department Community Response Team will host a “Last Call for Unsafe Nightlife” educational seminar tonight for local restaurant owners and management.

“Last Call for Unsafe Nightlife” is the first in a series of seminars designed to inform and instruct local restaurant owners and managers on reducing alcohol related offenses and to establish cooperative partnerships between city departments and establishments that serve alcoholic beverages.

Topics that will be covered include: Fire codes and occupancy, Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control regulations, Virginia alcohol laws, fraudulent identifications, tips for dealing with intoxicated persons, legal issues and liability, inspections codes and financial responsibilities.

This program has been developed in cooperation with the Winchester Police Department, Winchester Fire and Rescue Department, VA Alcohol Beverage Control Board, Winchester Commonwealth Attorney Office, Winchester Commissioner of Revenue, and Winchester Zoning and Inspections.
