Two Children Injured in ATV Accident in Lovettsville

Deputies responded to a residence in the 40200 block of Quarter Branch Road at 7:40 p.m Monday night for a report of a collision between a small dirt bike and a small all-terrain vehicle. A 7-year old female was operating a Polaris Outlaw 90 4-wheeler. Her 9-year-old brother was operating a small Yamaha dirt-bike. Both children were driving the vehicles and lost sight of each other. When they rounded a blind corner near a play set in the yard, the two collided. The female child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where she is being treated. The boy was ground-transported to INOVA Loudoun Hospital, Cornwall Campus for treatment.
