Two Woodgrove High School seniors have signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers in college.

These are the first two Wolverine athletes to sign letters of intent with a Division I college.

J.J. Sarty has committed to play baseball at the College of William & Mary. He is both an outstanding student and athlete. Sarty, a first team All-Dulles District second basemen, is a five-tool player who hits for both average and power and possesses outstanding speed and base-running skills. He also is an accomplished middle infielder who demonstrates outstanding range, hands, and arm strength.

Senior Matthew Reed has committed to play baseball at Clemson University. Reed, a unanimous first team All-District catcher, possesses outstanding defensive skills. He is an excellent receiver behind the plate who stifles opposing running attacks with a quick release and excellent throwing arm.

Reed also is an outstanding offensive player who hits for power and average and runs very well.
