Town of Leesburg Launches Video Contest

The Town of Leesburg is seeking new and fresh perspectives on what makes the Town a great place to live, work or visit. Individuals and teams are invited to submit original, 3-minute or less, digital videos illustrating what they love about Leesburg.Videos will be evaluated in one of three age categories: (1) 8th Grade students and younger, (2) High School students, and (3) Adults. One winner and up to five honorable mentions will be selected in each category. The contest deadline is Friday, May 4, 2012. Winners will be announced at the Leesburg Town Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.

Prizes for the video contest are being sponsored by Loudoun Credit Union. Each individual winner will receive a $500 savings bond and each individual honorable mention will receive a $100 savings bond.

“The video contest is intended to complement the new Conversations About Leesburg business-to-business video that the Town’s Economic Development Department recently released,” explained Betsy Fields, the Town’s Research & Communications Manager. “That video focuses on why businesses have chosen Leesburg. Through this contest, we hope to hear from high school students and young adults what they think is great about Leesburg.”
