The Fairfax County Park Authority Begins Improvements at Rolling Valley West Park
The Fairfax County Park Authority will begin improvements at Rolling Valley West Park on the existing diamond athletic field and the two rectangular fields. Work will commence by mid-February. The contractor, Lighting Maintenance Inc., will be moving onsite within the next two weeks. Construction access to the site will be from the main park entrance on 6512 Sydenstricker Road in Burke, VA.
The $573,752.00 project, funded in the 2004 Park Bond, includes new foundations, poles, lighting fixtures, and associated electrical work for the three (3) athletic fields. Additional funding was received through park proffers in the Springfield District. Project completion is slated for early May 2010.
