Teen Driver Charged with DUI in Loudoun County Parkway Accident
An 18-year-old Leesburg man was charged with DUI (under 21) after being involved in a serious crash Tuesday morning on Loudoun County Parkway.
Around 7:15 a.m. on November 15, 2011, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the westbound exit of Loudoun County Parkway at Route 7 for a two vehicle crash. A 2010 Hyundai driven by Jacob G. Mazaris, 18, of Leesburg, was traveling westbound on Route 7 when he exited onto the ramp at Loudoun County Parkway. The driver traveled across the northbound lanes of Loudoun County Parkway and into the southbound lane where he struck a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by a 47-year-old woman from Ashburn.
Both Mazaris and the driver of the Toyota were airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where they are both being treated for serious but non-life-threatening.
Mazaris was charged by members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit with DUI (under 21).
