Sunday Morning Accident Closes 287 in Lovettsville

A Lovettsville couple were seriously injured after a serious crash on Route 287 near Red Bud Lane. On Sunday morning around 8:30AM, a 2007 Ford F150 driven by Richard L Edmundson, 24, of Lovettsville, was northbound on Rt. 287. The vehicle crossed the yellow lines and struck a southbound 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was being operated by Robert Danner, 59, of Lovettsville. Danner and his wife, Carol Fleming-Danner, 55, were airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries. Two juvenile passengers in the Jeep were taken to the Cornwall Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital and were released.

Edmundson suffered minor injuries but did not require further medical attention. He was charged with Reckless Driving.
