State Police Seek Public Assistance Identifying Fairfax Assault Suspect Associated With Morgan Harrington Homicide
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – State and local investigators are pursuing a forensic connection between the disappearance and death of Virginia Tech student, Morgan Harrington, and an unsolved 2005 abduction and sexual assault in the City of Fairfax. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the Fairfax case based on a composite sketch of the man.Forensic evidence recovered during the course of the Harrington investigation has confirmed the link to the City of Fairfax assault. In September 2005, a Fairfax woman was abducted and sexually assaulted and City of Fairfax Police detectives were able to create a composite sketch based on the victim’s description of the suspect. However, the suspect may have changed his appearance over the course of the past five years.
