Shenandoah Memorial Hospital To Sell ShenSpa

14 April 2010 256 views No Comment

Shenandoah Memorial Hospital announced today that it will be seeking a buyer for ShenSpa, the hospital’s medical spa.

The decision to sell ShenSpa was based on the general economic atmosphere, and a desire to focus on core health care services to the community. The decision was also impacted by the departure of ShenSpa’s medical director, Tania Damavandy, MD.

“Dr. Damavandy and the ShenSpa staff have done a great job in difficult times, but due to the economy and our efforts to maintain a level of clinical hospital-based services, we have found it necessary to discontinue the service,” states Floyd Heater, Shenandoah Memorial Hospital President. “We appreciate the support ShenSpa received by many in the community.”

Over the next 90 days, Shenandoah Memorial Hospital will seek a buyer. If none surfaces, the hospital will close the service 30 days later. Gift cards and packages will be honored through July 5, 2010 (excluding Dr. Damavandy’s services). ShenSpa customers are encouraged to schedule appointments for services in the days remaining. Clients with questions about prepaid services can call Elizabeth Shuler at ShenSpa (540-459-4916) for clarification.
