Rowdy Post-Game at Ashburn Ice House Leads to Multiple Charges
A hockey game at the Ashburn Ice House on Friday February 10th became the scene of crowd violence after a scuffle sent one spectator to the hospital. The crowd at the ice rink was near capacity for a game between two high school aged teams and as the crowd began to disperse after the game, a group of juveniles began to chant. As tempers flared the crowd began to push and shove. In the ensuing chaos one juvenile was struck by an unknown juvenile. The 17-year-old victim from Ashburn was taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital for injuries he sustained during the assault. He was treated and released and the assault incident remains under investigation.
While deputies were attempting to disperse the crowd in the parking lot, several juveniles attempted to block a doorway. They were asked to move and were escorted away from the sidewalk. One of the juveniles turned around and pushed against a deputy in an aggressive manor. The juvenile, was identified as a 16-year-old from Ashburn. Juvenile petitions are pending for disorderly conduct and tobacco violations.
Another male subject was asked to leave the premises several times and refused. The 18-year-old from Ashburn was charged with trespassing and obstruction of justice.
