Round Hill Man Charged with Burglary of Town & Sheriff’s Office
A Round Hill, Virginia man was apprehended early Saturday morning after the burglary of the town office for the Town of Round Hill and a Loudoun Sheriff’s station. The Sheriff’s Office currently shares space inside the town offices.
Joseph S. Prizzia, 27, is charged with burglary and two counts of vandalism for his involvement in the burglary.
A Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputy arrived at the town office located at 23 Main Street around 12:30 a.m. on November 28th and observed a damaged door. Some of the offices were rummaged through and left in disarray.
As a Sheriff’s K9 unit cleared and searched the building, property belonging to a potential suspect was located on the floor under some of the rummaged through paperwork. Deputies also observed indications the suspect had injured himself during the burglary.
Based on this information a Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the Cornwall Campus of INOVA Loudoun Hospital. The suspect was located in the emergency room and was taken into custody.
Members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and interviewed the suspect.
