Police Seek Suspects in Woobridge Grocery Store Robbery

The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in providing information about a robbery which occurred at Platanillos Grocery in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County.

On December 19th at 6:55PM, police responded to the Platanillos Grocery located at 14342 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that three masked men entered the business and announced a robbery. The men produced handguns and demanded money and jewelry. The men fled the store with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and around $100,000 in jewelry and got into a vehicle. The manager of the business got into a separate vehicle to give chase. The manager intentionally rammed the suspect’s vehicle at which point one of the suspects opened fire on the manager’s vehicle. The rounds struck the managers vehicle, however, the manager himself was not struck by any of the rounds. The manager struck the suspect’s vehicle two more times. At this point the manager returned to the store and contacted police. The suspect’s vehicle was later located abandoned by Virginia State Police near I-95 and Gordon Blvd. A handgun and some of the jewelry were located inside. The investigation led to the identity of one of the suspects involved who was arrested in Washington DC on December 22nd. Police are still seeking the identity of the other three suspects involved.

Jesus GARCIA-GUINEA, 38, of 131 Webster St N.W. #12 in Washington D.C. Charged with robbery, burglary while armed, shooting from an occupied vehicle and 2 counts of the use of a firearm in commission of a felony

3 Hispanic males all reported to be between 18 and 25 years of age, 5’08” to 5’10”, medium build
