Gunfire Complaints Lead to Arrest in Ashburn

A Sterling, VA man has been charged in connection with an apparent domestic dispute that erupted in gunfire.

Around 10 p.m. on May 11, 2010 the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of a possible gunshot fired in the area of Hickory Corner Terrace in Ashburn, VA. Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene and quickly established a perimeter and secured the area. A subject attempting to leave the area was considered a person of interest in the case.

The subject, later identified as Abdul R. Jones, 29, was charged with discharging a firearm in a public place, brandishing a firearm and reckless handling of a firearm. Jones remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

Members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene for further investigation. A firearm was recovered during the search of a residence connected to the incident.

No injuries were reported as a result of incident.
