Pedestrian Struck at Valley Avenue and Cedar Creek Grade

On December 23 at approximately  5:26p.m. a pedestrian attempted to cross Valley Avenue (traveling Eastbound) and was struck by a vehicle and suffered significant injuries. The pedestrian was 79 year old Robert Stegemann of Capon Bridge, WV. Mr Stegman suffered a dislocated shoulder, and a broken leg as a result of the incident.

Police say the vehicle  had the right of way and the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk at the time of the accident.
There were charges placed at the time and no charges are pending.

The investigation was conducted by Cpl. Neer & Ofc.Shelton of the Winchester Police.
