Police responded to the area of Franconia Road and Cannon Lane for the report of a crash involving a car and a bicyclist. Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 30, three girls were riding their bicycles eastbound on a paved path on the north side of Franconia Road. Triple Fatality Auto Accident on I-95 South Bound in Stafford

On Monday, August 27, 2010 at 6:18 a.m., Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to an auto accident at the 141.6 mile marker on South Bound I-95. First arriving units reported a two-vehicle accident; one vehicle was overturned down an embankment with the occupants trapped inside. Crews stabilized the overturned vehicle and confirmed three occupants were trapped inside. Unfortunately, all of the trapped occupants succumbed to their injuries. On a perfect night for high school football, the Clarke County Eagles kicked-off their 2010 season by routing the Berkeley Springs Indians, 49 to 7 at Wilbur M. Feltner Stadium.
The Eagles started the evening with a brief ceremony remembering their fallen teammate Aaron Shirley who was killed in a tragic car accident in June. In his memory, the team has dedicated the 2010 season to him and will retire his number 80 jersey for the next three seasons.
