Operator killed when crane falls into Smith Mountain Lake
A crane operator was killed earlier today after his machine fell off a barge into Smith Mountain Lake.
Capt. Patrick Meeks of Franklin County’s Department of Public Safety says divers recovered the body of 54-year-old Roger Dale Goad of the community of Henry in about 60 feet of water today.
