Newest Member of the Fairfax City K9 Program

Police Officer First Class Robert Mignon and his K-9 partner Loki have completed an extensive training program and are now on patrol with the City of Fairfax Police Department. The pair graduated in January 2010 from a four-month K-9 training program which qualified Loki in criminal apprehension, narcotic detection and tracking. Loki is a 15-month old black Belgian Malinois and lives with his partner and family. Officer Mignon and Loki will continue to attend additional training every two weeks to maintain Loki’s specialized skills. Officer Mignon and Loki work during the midnight shift and may not always be visible to the public.

The City of Fairfax Police K-9 program began in 1996 and currently has two officers with K-9 partners, the other being Police Officer First Class Vann Sayasithsena and his partner Niko. Officers and their partners are available for organized public demonstrations.
