Motorcylist Involved in Accident on Sycolin Road Charged with DUI

Late Sunday night Deputies responded to Sycolin Road just west of the Murray’s Ford Bridge for a reported motorcycle crash.At approximately 10:30 PM on October 9th deputies found a 62-year-old male from of Ashburn with serious injuries resulting from a single vehicle accident.

 

Investigation into the incident revealed that the driver was headed eastbound on a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle when the vehicle went off the south side if the highway and struck a highway sign.

The rider was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries. The rider was wearing a novelty helmet not labeled for highway use. The incident was alcohol related and the rider was charged with DUI.
