VDOT Schedules Middleburg Sidewalk Repairs
Starting Monday, May 23, VDOT has scheduled a contractor to repair the concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters and storm drains where needed. They will be starting on West Marshall Street.
VDOT plans to place a door hanger on your door three days before they begin work in front of your business/residence.
The day that the work is scheduled to be done; there will be no parking in front of the businesses/residences. Parking bags will be place on the meters, as the work apparently moves along quickly.
As a reminder, VDOT owns a 60 foot right of way – 30′ from the center of the highway – on the streets in Middleburg. As such, they may be working right up to your front porch, in your flower bed, etc. The contractor has assured us they will work as neatly as possible, returning the property to its original condition.
The repair to the public sidewalks will be followed by milling and paving of Rt. 50 from the divided highway on the west of town – continuing through the town – that will end at Cobb House Road, is scheduled to begin on June 19. They will be working from 7:00 p.m .- 6:00 a.m. More information to follow.
