Mane Attraction Salon chosen as a finalist.
Sunday, April 26th, Aveda Services South East hosted the 3rd Annual Night of Fashion for the Earth at the Aveda Institute in DC’s Chinatown. Approximately 30 salons from the southeast area submitted designs in response to the water theme. Of these 30, only 11 salons were selected to participate with up to 3 models in a collection reflective of the water theme to promote the efforts of the Potomac Conservancy, an organization dedicated to preserving the scenic and historic.
Salon teams from Pittston, Pennsylvania; Annapolis, Hagerstown, and Rockville, MD; Alexandria, Richmond, and Winchester, Virginia; Georgetown, and Pentagon City in the District were among the participants. While our local salon did not win the grand prize, the presentation of their message was a sentimental crowd favorite.
Mane Attraction Salon and Wellness Spa was not only selected to participate in the show, Traci Valentinetti’s entry for the theme, “Unsightly vs. Beauty” was chosen as a finalist.
The Potomac Conservancy protects the health, beauty and enjoyment of the Potomac River and its tributaries. The Conservancy’s primary focus is protection of water quality through land protection and sound land use practices. Because clean water alone is not enough, the Conservancy also works to preserve and restore the Potomac’s scenic landscapes, and to enhance river-based recreational opportunities.
Aveda has always been a pioneer and steward of all the earth, its resources including its people. “Our mission at Aveda is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society. At Aveda, we strive to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty, but around the world.”
Mane Attraction Salon and Wellness Spa was proud to be selected to represent the area. We support both the global mission of Aveda are happy to help to raise consciousness and money for the important efforts of the Potomac Conservancy on such an important local matter.
