House Fire on Loch Lomond Drive Caused by Electrical Anomaly

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire, Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at approximately 4:10 p.m., in the Vienna area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 2215 Loch Lomond Drive.

Firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from all sides of the two-story home upon arrival. One of the occupants in the home had reported the fire in an upstairs bedroom. Firefighters conducted an aggressive interior fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire. There were no working smoke alarms in the home. Four adults have been displaced. One occupant was transported for a non-life threatening injury to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Red Cross support for the occupants was not necessary.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An electrical anomaly within the primary electrical service caused the fire.
