High Speed Pursuit of Motorcyclist Terminated for Safety, Suspect Nabbed Later

At approximately 10:00PM Saturday September 11th a deputy patrolling Evergreen Mills Rd initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle that was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit. The motorcycle continued to travel at a high rate of speed and passed several vehicles on a double solid line. The pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns.

Around 10:30PM a motorcycle matching the description of the suspect motorcycle was located parked in the area of Armstrong Terrace. The rider, Gavin L. Carpenter, 26, of Sterling was identified and later located.

Carpenter was charged with misdemeanor eluding and speeding.
