Harrisonburg Police Department Investigate Aggravated Assault
The Harrisonburg Police Department responded to the report of a female who was assaulted around 2:45 a.m. on February 4, 2011.
Police responded to the 1200 block of Old Furnace Road, where they found a female who had been assaulted.
As the victim was getting out of her vehicle, she was approached by an unknown person. The offender struck the victim and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital and then transported to the University of Virginia Medical with serious injuries.
HPD continues to actively investigate this incident and follow-up on information received.
