Deputy Assaulted While Responding to Altercation

Louduon Deputies responded to an Ashburn residence just before midnight on December 14th for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival deputies observed two males in an altercation in the driveway of a Charter Oak Drive home. A third subject was also observed at the scene. All three subjects fled on foot when they saw the police arrive. A deputy attempted to detain one of the subjects who resisted arrest and he assaulted the deputy. The subject was able to free himself before being apprehended in the area of Nashua St. and Starry Night Aly.  The 20-year-old subject, was taken to the Emergency Room of INOVA Loudoun Hospital and was later transferred to INOVA Fairfax Hospital for his injuries.

Charges are pending for assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, underage possession of alcohol and drunk in public.
