Orbital lands $1.9 billion NASA contract

Loudoun Times – NASA has awarded a long-term contract worth up to $1.9 billion to Orbital Sciences Corp. of Dulles. Under the contract, Orbital will transport about 20 metric tons of cargo in eight separate missions, from 2011 to 2015, to and from the International Space Station as it orbits the Earth.

Frederick man charged with passing fake $10 bills

Examiner – Maryland State Police say they’ve charged a Frederick man with passing counterfeit money at a convenience store. Police say 26-year-old Jose Enrique Guandique Torres bought items from the Sheetz convenience store on Buckeystown Pike using four counterfeit $10 bills.

Painting stolen from Frederick art exhibit

Examiner – Frederick police say an oil painting was stolen from an exhibit at the Frederick Arts Council. Local artist Carol Hutson says her painting of a red covered bridge over a stream in a rural setting was priced at $2,000.

State settles suit against Airborne Health

Business Journal of Milwaukee – Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said Tuesday that the state will receive $150,000 as part of a $7 million settlement Wisconsin and 31 other states reached with Airborne Health Inc. to settle allegations that the company made unsubstantiated and unlawful marketing claims concerning its products. -
