Cold Case Unit Make Arrest Based on DNA In Centreville Assault
Following up on a DNA hit, detectives from the Cold Case Sexual Crimes Unit arrested a Centreville-area man in connection with a December 2007 assault against a 23-year-old woman.
Marco A. Cobo-Baca, 23, of 14404 Cool Oak Lane, was charged with abduction with intent to defile late Thursday, January 21 at his home. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Police Investigate Centreville-Area Assault
Police are investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred Sunday evening in the Centreville area. Officers were called to the 14400 block of Cool Oak Lane at 10:25 p.m. on December 16. The victim, a 23-year-old Centreville-area woman, alleged she was standing at her vehicle around 8:30 p.m. when she was grabbed from behind by a man. During the struggle, the victim got in her vehicle with the suspect, where he sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to get out of the car and ran for help.
The suspect was described as white and 20 years old. He was about 5 feet 5 inches tall with brown hair. Investigators do not believe this incident is related to any others.
