Clarke County Will Pay New Teachers’ Pension Contribution

Clarke County Education Association (CCEA) President Andy Kiser is pleased to report that county officials have agreed to make a pension contribution for new teachers — a move that will keep the school division competitive in the region as it pursues new staff.

In an article published online in the Clarke Daily News, Robina Rich-Bouffault, school board chairman, noted that the school division “is seeing huge competition for professional staff. I think the best idea is to keep paying the VRS premium as we have been and keep base salaries the same.”
