Clarke County Crushes East Rockingham at Homecoming

On a picturesque night for Homecoming in Berryville, the Clarke County Eagles took to the field to face the Eagles from East Rockingham. The stands were packed for the annual homecoming festivities and the Clarke County Eagles didn’t disappoint. In an overwhelming show of force, the Clarke County Eagles crushed East Rockingham in a 49-0 victory.

For the first time in several weeks the Clarke County Eagles were able to get the offense started in the first quarter, driving the ball down the field on the opening drive to punch in the first score of the game with 6:40 left in the first quarter. Capping off a 26 yard run to the 3 yard line by Jesse Smoot, Grant Shaw punched it in with a 3 yard run to draw first blood.

As East Rockingham put their offense on the field for the first time, they were able to mount a good drive but it ended in the first of many turnovers that killed the hopes of pulling off a victory. After driving down the field, East Rockingham’s Zach Kibler tossed an interception in the end zone handing the ball back to Clarke County on the 20 yard line.
