Caulkins Jewelers Target Of Theft

Leesburg Today – Leesburg Police are investigating a break-in and theft that occurred at Caulkins Jewelers Sunday evening. According to Stanley Caulkins, owner of the downtown store since it opened in 1956, the alarms sounded at exactly 6:34 p.m. The perpetrator appears to have broken the back door of the store open to gain entry and then smashed glass cases and stealing quite a bit before town police responded.
