Police responded to the area of Franconia Road and Cannon Lane for the report of a crash involving a car and a bicyclist. Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 30, three girls were riding their bicycles eastbound on a paved path on the north side of Franconia Road. Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 26. Officers responded to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Gorham Street around 10:10 p.m. for a crash involving a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle and a 2008 Ford 150 pickup truck. An investigation determined the motorcycle, operated by a 25-year-old man, was traveling east on Leesburg Pike approaching Gorham Street. A woman died after a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the intersection of Lee Highway and Waples Mill Road around 10:09 p.m. on Thursday, August 26. A 17-year-old boy was driving a Ford Mustang on westbound Lee Highway when a Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 65-year-old man, made a left turn onto Waples Mill Road from eastbound Lee Highway in front of the Mustang. Both drivers had a solid green light and the Mustang collided with the Passat.

A 17-year old high school student was killed Tuesday while attempting to trim a tree in the City of Fairfax Va.
The victim, Greg Malsam, was trying to help a neighbor trim a tree. While attempting to cut a branch one of the branches touched a high voltage power line. Electricity passed through the limbs and into Malsams body. He was found burned and unconscious in the tree about 20 feet up.

Fatal Crash at Lees Corner Rd and Route 50

Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 1:38 a.m. on Friday, August 20, at Lee Jackson Memorial Highway and Lees Corner Road. Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit determined a 2003 Acura MDX, driven by a 71-year-old woman, was traveling west on Lee Jackson Memorial Highway Route 50 approaching Lees Corner Road. The driver of a 2001 Volkswagen Passat was traveling north on Lees Corner Road and entered the intersection at Route 50. The Acura struck the Volkswagen in the westbound lanes of Route 50.

Sex Offender Arrested in Walmart at Fair Lakes

Police arrested a 59-year-old registered sex offender after he allegedly exposed and touched himself in the toy section of WalMart at 13059 Fair Lakes Shopping Center. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 8 around 8 p.m.

Three Men Attempt to Rob Union Bank in SpringfieldAugust 13, 2010 by admin Edit Leave a CommentOn Wednesday, August 11 around noon, three men entered the Union Bank located at 6975 Springfield Boulevard in Springfield, in what appears to be a robbery attempt. The three men entered the first set of doors for the bank and put on masks. A metal detector inside the doorway was activated and the second set of doors into the bank automatically locked.

City of Fairfax Police are investigating the robbery of the Bank of America branch located at 9500 Main Street which occurred about 1:20 PM on Monday, August 9. The lone male suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and produced a note demanding money. No weapon was displayed. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash he left the bank on foot, heading north on Pickett Road. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as white, in his twenties, approximately six feet tall, weighing about 150 pounds with blond hair. He …

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators have charged Neil Benjamin Harrison, 28, Alexandria, with burning a townhouse and setting fire to woods, fences, and grass, in connection with a fire at 5206 Pleasure Cove Court, in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County.
Harrison was charged with 18.2-79, a class 4 felony, and 18.2-86, a class 6 felony of the Virginia code.
