25-year-old woman killed in accident on Richmond Highway
A 25-year-old woman died in a traffic crash on Friday, January 29 around 11:30 p.m. at Richmond Highway just south of Mims Street. The woman was driving her 2007 Toyota Corolla in the right lane and failed to stop before striking the rear of a 1994 Mack dump truck that had already established itself in that lane.
Lauren Elizabeth Whitestone of 2006 Cumberland Drive in Woodbridge was pronounced dead at the scene. The 44-year-old driver of the dump truck was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Speed and alcohol may be factors in the crash which is still under investigation by the Fairfax County Crash Reconstruction Unit.
