accident-sceneA 19-year-old woman died in a traffic crash on Friday, January 22 around 11:30 p.m. when the car she was driving ran off the road and struck a tree. Katelyn M. Zinn, 19, of 9210 Cork Place, Burke was driving a 1996 Toyota Camry eastbound on Burke Lake Road, near Burke View Avenue,  when she apparently lost control, struck a concrete median, ran off the right shoulder and slid sideways into a tree.

This is one of the hardest things that has ever happened to me, Katie was an amazing girl, one of a kind and always had the brightest and prettiest smile around. Katie truly made an impact on everyone she met because she was just a beautiful person inside and out. She was suppose to be at my house by 11:00, the only thing that stopped her was a tree…. May Katie rest in peace and her spirit and life will NEVER be forgotten> RIP KATIE ZINN, I miss you soo much.

I only met Katie once in 2004 when my cousin Kellie passed away. She was my cousin Stefanie’s best friend.I never forgot about Katie. She was so nice and had a great smile and tryed to cheer everyone up. She wasn’t shy around us and she hardly knew us. She was like part of the familyat that moment. I remember shooting around outside my cousin Stefanies house with all them. To her family – I send my prayers…

forgive me. none of that matters. god has plans and nothing stands in the plans way.

I didn’t even know the girl, i knew her face and i know her siblings faces. I have seen all the love on face book and here. its just been running through my head over and over. we are a close community and this type of news hits wayyy close to home. we all ask why and have to just tell ourselves that it was gods plan. she lived the life she wanted and all we can learn is to try and do the exact same. doubt anyone will measure up :( RIP KT
